Warwick is a small town located in Orange County known for its apples, beautiful farm land and annual October Applefest. After living in Warwick for 6 years, I have gotten to know the area well and would like to share with you some of my favorite things to do and places to visit.
1) Bellvale Creamery
Bellvale Creamery is a Warwick staple. Their homemade ice cream and beautiful views make the creamery a large attraction to both Warwick locals and visitors. Bellvale Bog and Great White Way are two of their most popular flavors.
Warwick's Drive-in movie theater is one of the few drive-ins open in the area and features beautiful views of the valley. The Drive-in is a fun way to spend time with family, friends or go on a date. Grab some popcorn and candy from the snack shack and enjoy a movie on the big screen.
3) Pennings Cidery and Beer Garden
Pennings is a great place to hangout with friends and family on the weekend. They have everything from a full farmers market to a beer garden and cidery. They have apple picking in the fall, bands on the weekends and goats!
4) Walk the Appalachian Trail Boardwalk
Located just 15 minutes from town, the Appalachian Trail Boardwalk is the perfect place to get a nature walk in without having to do any serious hiking. If you want to be more adventurous, you can continue on the trail and hike the stairway to heaven trail. The view at the top is definitely worth the trip up!
5) Stroll down Main Street
Warwick's Main Street is full of stores and restaurants to visit. Some of my favorites are:
Frazzleberries Country Store- a small boutique shop with cute gifts and home decorations.
Style Counsel- Modern and chic clothing store.
The Bungalow- Bohemian home decor and gift shop.
Taco Hombre- Like Chipotle, but 10 times better.
Opa Greek Grill- Amazing Greek food (make sure you try the fried pita with Nutella and ice cream dessert, it's the best thing i've ever eaten.)
Craft Beer Cellar- Large selection of local craft beers and a great place to hangout with friends on the weekends.
Fannie's- Farm fresh, local ingredients, delicious brunch!
Fetch- Bar and grill with delicious food and dog photos everywhere.
6) Warwick Winery
Enjoy local bands, brick oven pizza, and delicious wine and hard cider at the Warwick Valley Winery.
7) Wickham Woodlands
Wickham Woodlands is an old prison turned into a beautiful town park. The park offers lots of space for walking, running and biking. Bring your Kayak and float along the river or pack some snacks to enjoy at their many picnic benches.
